Lewis and Lewis Mexican Tourist Auto Insurance policies are underwritten by Quálitas Compania de Seguros S.A. de C.V. and available to Persons with a Valid Driver's License except Mexican citizens who reside permanently in Mexico.

Risk 1 - Quálitas Compania de Seguros S.A. de C.V. Protects in case of loss due to Collision, Overturning and Glass Breakage. Covers damage to the insured units including material damage caused by: stranding, sinking, burning, explosion, collision, overturning or derailing of the transportation vehicle on or in which the insured units are being moved by land, air or sea. There is an Obligatory $500 Deductible for each Collision, Overturning and Glass Breakage Loss applied to each respective insured unit that is damaged. (*)For Motorhomes, Travel Trailers, 5th Wheels, Cab-Over Campers, SUVs & Pickups, the Fixed Deductible is $1,000.

Protects in case of loss due to Total Theft, Fire, Lightning and/or Explosion, Strikes and Riots, Popular Uprisings and resultant Malicious Mischief, Natural Disasters of Cyclones, Hurricanes, Hail, Earthquakes, Volcanic Eruptions, Avalanches, Flooding, Land or Rock slides, the Fall or Collapse of Constructions, Buildings and Falling Trees or Branches. There is an Obligatory $500 Deductible for each Total Theft Loss applied to each respective insured unit that is stolen. Risk 2 - Quálitas Compania de Seguros S.A. de C.V. Total Theft protects in case of loss due to Total Theft of the insured vehicle and/or towed units. There is an Obligatory $500 Deductible for each Total Theft Loss applied to each respective insured unit that is stolen. There is no coverage for partial theft or vandalism unless the optional insurance "VIP" Endorsement (Vandalism, Partial Theft, Flash Flood & Emergency Expense) is added to the policy.
In case of a total loss, Quálitas Compania de Seguros S.A. de C.V. will adjust the claim settlement on the basis of the actual cash value at the time of the loss using Kelley Blue Book or NADA Guides valuation services to determine the private party retail value.
In case of a repair, Quálitas Compania de Seguros S.A. de C.V. pays the USA hourly labor rate if the vehicle is repaired in the USA. The Insured selects 2 repair shops and takes the damaged vehicle and/or towed units to the repair shops (Not by Photo). The 2 estimates are sent to Quálitas for a cash settlement of the claim. If the vehicle is not in drivable condition a repair in the USA or Canada may not be possible. Mexican IVA sales tax is the only sales tax Qualitas can pay, and only for repairs made in Mexico performed by the network of repair shops that collaborate with Qualitas, as these shops issue a fiscal invoice which meets all the formalities that the Mexican tax authority requires.
Values are listed in U.S. Currency and adjusted on a current market value basis (Actual Cash Value) at the time of the loss. Losses are paid in U.S. currency.
Quálitas Compania de Seguros S.A. de C.V. Liability provides payment to a third party for their Bodily Injury and Property Damage. Quálitas Compania de Seguros S.A. de C.V assumes the Insured's responsibility for a covered loss involving the insured vehicle up to the insured limit of $500,000 CSL USD (or more if an "Increased Liability Limit" has been purchased). Third Party Liability excludes and does not apply to occupants of the insured vehicle.
Combined Single Limit (CSL Liability) is a limit of liability for Bodily Injury and Property Damage coverage expressed as one single amount of coverage protection.
Quálitas Compania de Seguros S.A. de C.V. Legal Service covers legal fees for Bail Bond, Attorney, Civil and Criminal Defense resulting from the insured vehicle being in an accident up to the insured limit of $100,000 USD.
Quálitas Compania de Seguros S.A. de C.V. Medical Payments cover the expenses incurred by the occupants of the insured vehicle as a result of bodily injuries sustained aboard said vehicle caused by Fire, Collision and/or Upset. The Medical Payments insured limit is $10,000 USD per person, $50,000 USD per accident and includes Uninsured Motorist Bodily Injury coverage using the same Medical payments limit. Medical Payments coverage is excluded if the insured vehicle is a Motorcycle, ATC or ATV.
For an insured loss due to vehicle break down, accident or total theft, GRUPO AUSA provides towing up to $300 per trip, enough gasoline to reach the nearest gas station (the first 10 liters are free), jumpstart and battery recharge, flat tire repair, the transportation and fee of a locksmith, authorized dealer references, sending spare parts, ground transportation of the Client and his/her traveling companions (a maximum of 4 people besides the Client) to the place where the authorized vehicle will be repaired, a driver to take the vehicle back to the Client's place of permanent residence or to the next location where the trip was heading, transportation of the traveling companions to either the next location where the trip was heading or to their place of permanent residence (a maximum amount of $150 USD per person, maximum of $750 USD per event), an economy class rental car for a maximum of 2 days, hotel accommodations up to $300 USD for a maximum of two nights.
In the event that the Client contracts a Life Threatening illness or suffers an Accident, GRUPO AUSA provides International Air Medical Transportation in an air ambulance when the Company medical team along with the doctor assisting/attending the Client determines that the illness or injury cannot be treated in a Mexican hospital. This service is restricted to hospitals in San Diego, CA (USA), Houston, TX (USA) and Vancouver, BC, (CANADA) without cost to the Client.
In the event that the Client contracts a Life Threatening Illness or suffers an Accident, GRUPO AUSA provides Air transportation in an air ambulance when the Company medical team along with the doctor assisting/attending the Client determines the event requires it. The Company will choose the hospital that best suits the event or Terrestrial transportation in an ambulance to a hospital, under medical care. The Company will choose the nearest hospital that best suits the event.
GRUPO AUSA Medical Assistance includes MEDICAL REFERENCES a) Doctor - name, specialty, telephone number and address. B) Hospitals, clinics, drugstores and test laboratories - names, telephone numbers and addresses. c) Recommendations and advice about these references. MEDICAL COORDINATION a) Sending a doctor to his/her hotel. b) Arranging an appointment with a doctor at the doctor's office. c) Arranging an appointment with a doctor at a hospital. DRUG DELIVERY, INCIDENTAL EXPENSES DERIVED FROM CONVALESCENCE, I) provide the company of a relative, II) Pay for travelling companions to continue their trip or go back to their permanent residence, III) pay for the necessary expenses to extend the Client's stay in a hotel chosen by him/her, IV) the Company will cover the necessary expenses and make all the arrangements needed to send him/her back to his/her place of permanent residence on a commercial flight. RETURN OF THE CLIENT DUE TO DEATH OF FAMILY MEMBER, the Company will carry out required legal formalities in the regrettable case that the Client dies (FATALITY OF CLIENT) as a result of an illness or an accident, ODONTOLOGICAL EMERGENCY the Company will make the necessary arrangements to get the Client medical attention. If the Client breaks or loses his/her glasses or contact lenses (GLASSES OR CONTACT LENSES REPLACEMENT), the Company will make the necessary arrangements to get the Client an appointment with an optometrist.
GRUPO AUSA Tourist Services include 1. AUSA CLIENT SERVICES CALL CENTER Through its Call Center, the Company will provide the Client with the following information: Location and charge of tollbooths on the main highways of Mexico, gas stations, highways in the Mexican Republic and the best or shortest routes between two cities. Telephone numbers and addresses of vehicle impounds and Police Stations within the Mexican Republic. 2. EMBASSIES AND CONSULATES At the Client's request, the Company will assist him/her to get in touch with the Embassy or Consulate of his/her native country. 3. AUSA TOURIST CALL CENTER Through its Call Center, the Company will provide the Client with the following tourist information: Formalities and procedures to secure visas and documents, Formalities and procedures to cancel temporary vehicle importation permits, Exchange rates, Weather, Local customs, Main holidays, Sports facilities and local sports competitions, Ticket-selling agencies, Children attractions, Shopping centers, Shows and exhibitions, Museums and art galleries, Festivals and special events, Music, Hotels and restaurants, Nightlife and Useful tips. 4. TICKETS FOR LOCAL SHOWS At the Client's request, the Company will make arrangements for the acquisition of tickets to local shows, provided they are available where the Client is located. The Client will pay for the tickets. The Company will also assist the Client in planning vacation trips within Mexico. 5. U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATE TRAVEL ADVISORY At the Client's request the Company will provide the Client with relevant information from the U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATE about travel alerts, public announcements and consular information. 6. DOCUMENT LOSS In the event the Client loses essential documents needed to continue his/her trip like a passport, visa, plane ticket or such, the Company will provide the Client with relevant information, procedures and formalities of the local authorities and/or consulates so as to report the loss and make arrangements for document replacement. 7. LUGGAGE LOSS In the event that the Client loses his/her luggage or if it is stolen, the Company through its Call Center will assist the Client in reporting the loss/theft to the authorities and will help the Client carry out the procedures and formalities necessary to retrieve the luggage and send it to where the Client is currently located or to his/her place of permanent residence. 8. TRANSFER OF FUNDS In the event that the Client contracts an illness or is injured in an accident, the Company will transfer funds up to a maximum amount of $2,000 USD after a deposit in the same amount is received in the Company's offices or authorized branches. This deposit must be made by the person(s) designated by the Beneficiary. 9. TRAVEL AGENCIES at the Client's request, the Company will coordinate the reservations to secure seats/accommodations on/in flights/hotels within the Mexican Republic. The Client will pay for the cost of the seats/accommodations. 10. URGENT COMMUNICATION SERVICES In case of emergency, the Company will communicate with the Client's family, relative, doctor or business office to inform them of the Client's condition. The Company will pay the cost of such communications.
For an insured loss due to vehicle breakdown, accident or total theft, GRUPO AUSA provides an economy class rental car for a maximum of 2 days.
For an insured loss due to vehicle breakdown, accident or total theft, GRUPO AUSA provides transportation of the Client and his/her traveling companions to either the next location where the trip was heading or to the Client's place of permanent residence (a maximum amount of $150 USD per person, maximum of $750 USD per event).

Quálitas Compania de Seguros S.A. de C.V. Uninsured Motorist Plus increases the insured limit of Medical Payments to $20,000 per person, $100,000 per accident. In the event that an Uninsured or Underinsured motorist damages the insured vehicle, the Collision Deductible charged will be $0. Uninsured Motorist Plus adds Uninsured Underinsured Motorist Property Damage $3,500 to Liability only policies.
By making the "VIP" Endorsement part of your policy, Quálitas Compania de Seguros S.A. de C.V. Protects in case of loss due to Vandalism, Partial Theft and Flash Flood. Partial Theft coverage is for permanently installed vehicle equipment. Coverage is only applicable to Vehicle, Watercraft, Motor, and Trailer, Units in Tow or Attached and not contents/personal effects therein. VIP Coverage and deductibles: Vandalism $250 Deductible; Partial Theft $250 Deductible; Flash Flood $500 Deductible; Emergency Expenses up to $500 ($500 is the maximum benefit but is limited to 2 times the policy premium); The Glass Breakage Deductible is reduced to $100. VIP coverage is not available for Liability Only or Driver's License policies.
